WindStream Communications Proj Mgr I-Network Facility in Virtual Office NC 1.00, North Carolina

The Project Manager – Network Facility is responsible for working closely with interdepartmental Network Engineers and Engineering Project Managers to insure the timely and accurate installation of services for customers. This role is tasked with:

  • Planning and managing projects for installation by ensuring a clean scope of work, facilitating the definition of project goals and deliverables, developing realistic project approaches and timelines, assigning appropriate internal resources, and internal, cross-functional coordination of project activities and status.

  • Assisting in gathering technical information to design, build, provision, and deliver customer solutions, leading the investigation and resolution of project issues, conflicts, and escalations, and determining process changes to deliver effective customer solutions.

  • Maintaining path, switch, vendor diversity, least cost routing, and making recommendations for overall network health and customer service optimization.

  • Processing multiple tasks concurrently through prioritization and accurate problem assessment in a fast-paced and customer driven environment.

  • Guiding and mentoring other Windstream employees on complex issues involving network applications.

  • Assisting in the project management of network fiber construction processes including design, permitting, material acquisition and placement, rout development and mapping, local jurisdiction permitting agencies and timelines, easements and licenses, and vendor/contractor management.

    Minimum Requirements:

    College degree and 3-5 years professional level experience with 1 years supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or 7 years professional level related experience with 1 years supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience required.

  • Experience in Telecommunication circuits and Transport Hierarchy; DS0, DS1, DS3, 10/100 Fast Ethernet, GigE, 10GigE, EoS, and SONET

  • Experience with Transport ordering processes and interdepartmental relationships

  • Ability to create milestone Trackers used to measure progress between functional groups

  • Strong Project Management skills

  • Demonstrate high-quality presentation skills with ability to communicate ideas effectively

  • Preferred Licenses or certifications: PMP, Juniper, Cisco, Accedian, or other Telephony Network or Equipment Certifications
