WindStream Communications Engineering Consultant/Sr Engineer/ Engineer III in Lincoln, Nebraska
We are looking for a highly motivated and talented individual with experience working on open source as well as commercial software systems. In this role you will be creating new products and services using NFV and SDN technology. Also enhancing systems and services to run on next generation platforms. As a key member of the team you will be contributing to multiple projects taking them through all phases of the life cycle from concept and design phase to testing and implementation.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in Software development
Minimum 5 years’ experience with Linux administration
Minimum 3 years’ experience with Database administration
Minimum 3 years’ experience with DNS administration
Minimum 3 years’ experience with Opensource Software
DevOps mentality and experience with automation technologies such as Ansible, Puppet, Maven, and Git.
Experience with Python, Perl, or Java.
API development experience with technologies such as SOAP, REST/JSON, and orchestration tools.
Experience with DNS applications such as BIND, VitalQIP, IP Control, AnswerX, Nominum, or Infoblox
Experience with LDAP, Radius, Tacacs, SSO, SAML, and Multifactor authentication.
Experience with Databases such as MySQL, InfluxDB, Druid, Sybase and NoSQL DBs (Cassandra, MongoDB).
Experience with Big Data applications such as Hadoop, Kafka, NiFi, Scoop, and Spark.
Virtualization and cloud technologies such as VMware, KVM, Openstack, and AWS.
Familiarity with Microservices, dynamic management, and container technologies (such as Docker, Kubernettes, and Rancher).
Proficient in data center networking, BGP routing, and IPv4/6
Participation in the Open Source community is a plus.
Knowledgeable of telecommunications and Service provider industry
Familiar with Agile, Scrum, and Jira.
Fortinet, Cisco, A10, Citrix, network device management experience
SNMP, IPFIX (Netflow), Telemetry and SLA monitoring of the network
PCI audit and compliance experience
Self-starter with can do attitude
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or related field) or a minimum of 7 years of IT/Engineering experience
